Beat The Street
Mon 14 Jun 2021Let’s try to win Points for Norton Free!
Beat the Street is a fun, free project that will see Sheffield transformed into a giant game! See how far you can walk, cycle and run in just 6 weeks.
Play the game from 16 June – 28 July to win prizes for yourself and school.
Today every pupil will get a fob and a map that they can use on the Beat Boxes that are appearing on lamp posts all over Sheffield. The children will also bring home a letter with a card attached that somebody else in the family can use!
Visit https://www.beatthestreet.me/sheffield/ to register your fob or card and start beating the street.
Every journey you make adds to your points total as well as your team and the whole of your area. Stay active and earn points for the school team!
How far can you go?
Any questions please email rneilson@nortonfree.sheffield.sch.uk.
Many Thanks
Mr Neilson

Arrangements from Tuesday 5th January 2020
Mon 04 Jan 2021Following the announcement by Mr Johnson tonight, school will be closed to children from tomorrow except for the children of Key Workers and Vulnerable children. If your child attended school during the last lockdown, they can attend as before. If you are unsure, please email Mrs Bell with evidence of Key worker status, we will let you know as soon as possible. If you are a key worker and your child is attending, please arrive at the normal time (start and finish times will remain the same for now) and go to your usual classroom. Staff will be there to meet you.
Teacher led remote learning will commence on Thursday 7th Jan. On Tuesday and Wednesday 5th/6th Jan learning will be available on google classroom in the same way that homework is. Please bear with us while we prepare for the lockdown. Other activities can be found on the class pages although please give staff time to upload these.
If you require breakfast club and are registered, it will be open from 8am.
We will try to keep you as informed as possible.

PHE Guidance
Wed 30 Sep 2020Public Health England guidance states:
“If a child or staff member at a school tests positive, and they had attended the school in the 48 hours prior to developing symptoms, direct and close contacts will be identified and advised regarding self-isolation by a contact tracer.
"Other household members of the wider class or group do not need to self-isolate unless the child, young person or staff member they live with in that group subsequently develops symptoms. Siblings can still go to school unless the child in the bubble develops symptoms"
