    Tue 24 Mar 2026

We have been lent a pair of Camera Traps which have been positioned in and area the Pond Area. Norton Free has some exciting nocturnal wildlife. We showed the clips to the children during our Big Plastic Count assembly which highlighted the need for sustainable packaging and an end to plastic. So far, we have spotted cats, foxes, rats, mice and badgers.

  • Hen Harrier Day

Tue 24 Mar 2026 mr French

A huge 'Thank You' to all the children who donated £1 to our spectacular Hen Harrier Day. We raised just over £129 which is a fair result. A massive 'Well Done' to BG (Y5) who created some bands to sell on the day with her friends. They raised £28 so the final total was just over £157. We will donate the money to the RSPB and will use some of the money for our plants in the Sensory SEND flower beds.

  • Y5 Football

Thu 19 Mar 2026 Mr Holland

On Monday afternoon, the Y5 boys represented Norton Free superbly in their local football league fixtures. It was a fantastic event and the team competed against Carfield, Mundella A and B and Woodhouse. After their four fixtures had been played, they had won three ( 3-2, 4-0, 1-0) and lost narrowly in their final game 2-1. The boys showed skill, determination, teamwork and great sportsmanship and finished second, missing out on top spot on goal difference by one goal. The boys were a real credit and should be proud of their achievements. Well done!

Team: Alfie, Alfie, Casper, Isaac, Harry, Jackson, Max and Micah

This week Y5 took a trip to Magna Science Adventure Centre. We explored all the elements, saw fire tornados and engaged with air canons, we also enjoyed a spectacular space workshop where we observed constellations and learnt all about the science behind rocket launches!
