  • PHE Guidance

    Wed 30 Sep 2020 HB

    Public Health England guidance states:

“If a child or staff member at a school tests positive, and they had attended the school in the 48 hours prior to developing symptoms, direct and close contacts will be identified and advised regarding self-isolation by a contact tracer.

"Other household members of the wider class or group do not need to self-isolate unless the child, young person or staff member they live with in that group subsequently develops symptoms. Siblings can still go to school unless the child in the bubble develops symptoms"

  • No competitive Sport until Jan 2021

    Thu 17 Sep 2020 HB

In Sheffield, competitive school sport will not be taking place before January 2021. AfPE guidance currently states, it’s position at the current time, is that school fixtures should be avoided, as this will involve contact across schools, and increase the opportunities for virus transmission. AfPE go onto say that community activities are different because parents/carers choose to let their children take part. Trials for Sheffield representation will be taking place in a Covid safe environment but no fixtures are currently planned to go ahead.

The Sheffield School Games Organisers, School Sports Partnerships and the Sheffield Federation of School Sport will be aiming to restart competitive opportunities after Christmas.
