Athletics City Finals - two City Champions and a 3rd place on the podium
Thu 27 Jun 2024Straight after Sports Day, three of our Y6 children headed down to Woodbourn road having qualified during the heats at the beginning of June.
Batya retained her title from the previous year (2023) and was once again the City Champion for the Girls 80m sprint, bringing the trophy home again.
Luca, who won the throw in 2023, was 3rd this year but he also became City Champion for the 80m boys sprint this year coming away with a trophy for the sprint and a certificate for the throw.
Thomas did really well to qualify this year ( he didn't take part last year) and he finished with a respectable 10th place in the boys throw. Well done to all three of you for representing the school and doing so well on the night!

2 City Champions from Norton Free!
Mon 26 Jun 2023At the City Championships tonight 26/6/23, we took 9 fabulous children and at the end of the evening we have TWO City Champions! Not bad for a one form entry!
Luca threw his cricket ball the furthest and is the new City Champion 2023 for throwing and he’s only Y5! Fabulous work Luca!
Batya shared first place with another girl in her heat for the 80m sprint as they both ran the same time. She qualified for the final and then comfortably took the win to become City Champion - WELL DONE!
The children were amazing! Jacob won his heat for the 800m, Alysianna, Harriet and George were fabulous in the race walk. Tia was 3rd in her heat for 80m. Luca won his heat for the 80m and finished 5th in the final which is fabulous too! Our Girls Relay team were 3rd in their heat and sadly didn’t make the final but they were BRILLIANT - well done Kaysha, Autumn, Batya and Alysianna. We are SO proud of you all!! -
