Australia Dress Down Day
Wed 05 Feb 2020Australia Day February 2020
As a result of the bush fires that we heard about recently on the news and the devastating impact that these have had in Australia, some of our Y2 children sprang into action and asked if they could have a Dress Down Day to raise money for Australia. They made posters, chose the date, wrote a letter to parents and announced it in our parents' assembly. WELL DONE to Maya Bell, Lucy Coates and Lily Mae Hopkinson for your efforts and so far, we have raised an incredible £246.60. FANTASTIC!!

Another shining example of one of our children supporting the local community.
Mon 02 Dec 2019Maya Dyson Y3 - wants people to donate to charity for her birthday, please take a look at her JustGiving page!
My name is Maya and on the 3rd December 2019 I will be 8 years old. My mummy (a psychologist - whatever one of those is) has worked with children with cancer since before I was born.
Last year a good friend in my class lost his cousin to cancer. He was called Jack and was just 15 years old when he was suddenly diagnosed. He lost his fight in November 2018 but his family and friends have fundraised in his memory.
For my birthday this year I would like to help #teamjack. I am having a birthday party tomorrow and instead of gifts I have asked for three coins - one to spend, one to save and one to give away. The coins i’m giving away will be given to #teamjack. Here is a bit more about them -
Throughout Jack's illness there were 2 organisations that were absolutely amazing to Jack, his family and friends. Teamjack continues to fundraise for Sheffield Children's Hospital and CLIC Sargent. To date they have raised an incredible £95,000

Please help my contribute to #teamjack on my 8th birthday - every little helps.
Love Maya xxx

Y5 Girls Fundraiser 12th December 2019
Thu 28 Nov 2019Three girls in Y5 have been very proactive and are planning a fund-raising day to raise money for Parkinsons and Cancer Research. Cara Bell, Alice Bonsall and Lilia Minton have planned the whole day from scratch. They have made posters, discussed their ideas with Mrs Bell, selected a date and they are now in the process of drafting a letter to parents which Miss Gill will type. The girls have identified a day - 12th December 2019 - which will be a dress down day (wear blue) and we will attempt a sponsored silence during assembly! Please look out for their letter - this will also be uploaded to the website under whole school letters. The girls have decided that they would like people to donate a minimum of 50p (more if you would like) for dressing down and being silent. Please donate to this very worthy cause. -
