Fundraising

Virgin Mini Marathon October 2021 raising money for Cancer Research Uk

Thomas Todd in Year 4 was so inspired by Colonel(Capt.Tom) that he used his own initiative & decided to do some fundraising for the NHS. Thomas is going to see how many laps of his garden he can run by the end of lockdown! He planned to run 5km but has already smashed 8km.

Please have a look at his justgiving page & support him if you can

Go Thomas! Everyone at Norton Free is so proud of you.

Stanley Thorpe in Foundation Stage is going to be doing very long bike ride in order to raise money for charity at school. Mum and dad were meant to be doing a 50k walk but it has obviously been cancelled due to the Coronavirus. Stanley then asked if they could cycle 99 miles to raise money and so they’ve been very busy doing this.

There is more information on Stanley's just giving page, feel free to donate if you would like to and if you know Stanley or see him on his bike, give him a cheer!

Australia Day February 2020

As a result of the bush fires that we heard about recently on the news and the devastating impact that these have had in Australia, some of our Y2 children sprang into action and asked if they could have a Dress Down Day to raise money for Australia. They made posters, chose the date, wrote a letter to parents and announced it in our parents' assembly. WELL DONE to Maya Bell, Lucy Coates and Lily Mae Hopkinson for your efforts and so far, we have raised an incredible £246.60. FANTASTIC!!

Our children are amazing...

Toby Dales (Y3) rounded up his friends to make and sell Hot Chocolate Stirrers for the homeless. He and his friends set up a stall after school, outside the classroom and raised an incredible £120 for the Archer Project. Well done!!!

Maya Dyson Y3 - wants people to donate to charity for her birthday, please take a look at her JustGiving page!

My name is Maya and on the 3rd December 2019 I will be 8 years old. My mummy (a psychologist - whatever one of those is) has worked with children with cancer since before I was born.

Last year a good friend in my class lost his cousin to cancer. He was called Jack and was just 15 years old when he was suddenly diagnosed. He lost his fight in November 2018 but his family and friends have fundraised in his memory.

For my birthday this year I would like to help #teamjack. I am having a birthday party tomorrow and instead of gifts I have asked for three coins - one to spend, one to save and one to give away. The coins i’m giving away will be given to #teamjack. Here is a bit more about them -

Throughout Jack's illness there were 2 organisations that were absolutely amazing to Jack, his family and friends. Teamjack continues to fundraise for Sheffield Children's Hospital and CLIC Sargent. To date they have raised an incredible £95,000

Please help my contribute to #teamjack on my 8th birthday - every little helps.

Love Maya xxx
