School Values

'Our school is a caring, Christian Community, with Jesus Christ at the heart of everything we do. It provides a safe, nurturing environment enabling all children to flourish, to be the best they can be, to value themselves and others and to live joyfully and in peace’

At Norton Free C of E School we adhere to a set of Christian Values which are introduced each half term and shared with the children through assemblies, circle time, classroom practise and as part of our everyday life in school. Our values were reviewed in September 2018 alongside a review of our curriculum, in order to meet the needs of our school.

We are an inclusive, community school with a real 'family feel'. Everyone is valued at our school  - every child and their family and every member of staff. We have high expectations of behaviour and work together to achieve our aims. Everyone has a role to play in order to achieve this. Our values are also closely linked to the values of the school games as we are passionate about sport and the role that sport plays in the development of our children.

Our Values

Our school values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. Each term we have a different value which is shared with the children in the first assembly of the term. We talk about our Values in assemblies, in circle time and as part of everyday school life.

Our School Values are:

Respect -  “Respect your father and mother,” and “love your neighbour as yourself.” Matthew 19:19

Co-operation - "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labour. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion". Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Determination/Perseverance - "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13

Self -Belief - "and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness" Romans 2:19

Kindness - "Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you" Ephesians 4:32

Resilience - "I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13
