The Three Beds have been uncovered and topped up with mulch. A huge thank you to all the parents who volunteered and also the amazing Pond Club who dedicate their time to making Norton Free look amazing.

A HUGE thank you too for Abigail who wrote a letter asking for bird food donations. Abigail visited 3 local garden centres and they were very generous with their bird food. We have been supported by our local garden centres in the past and it is great that they continue to support our small school.

Special thanks too for Abigail for spending her weekend writing letters and visiting the local garden centres - you are amazing.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Stand up on the podium and take a bow!

We have been donated enough bird food to feed a flock of vultures - more than the steel bin can carry. I had to ask another adult to help me carry the bin to the bird station. Thank you so much to all the parents who donated food and all the children who pestered you! We have enough food to go through Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Beavers used to be abundant in the UK but were hunted for their fur, meat and scent glands. Charities like the Beaver Trust are reintroducing beavers into the UK. The beaver is an amazing dam builder and they produce a series of dams that slow down water. The design of the dams prevents flooding during downpours. Not only do they reduce the risk of flooding - they also are an important player in biodiversity. This magical rodent encourages wildlife to flourish along its dams. What an amzing creature!. A massive 'Thank You' to the the Crofts Family who donated £300 to the after school Pond Cleaning Club. We have already spent some money on history resources for the Y3 class and some much needed stationary. We are in the process of caring for all our apple trees (we have an apple!) and will be buying some mulch in the near future.
